Ben Nwankwo Ph.D
Ben Nwankwo Ph.D, is the Founder of the Leading Edge Group, one of Nigeria’s fastest growing multi-disciplinary human capital development systems and leadership education centre. He has over 20 years experience in the HR System, seasoned technical insights of Public Sector work system and a strong portfolio of bottom-line learning and development designs for public and private sector organizational development and human performance improvements. His previous roles include Commissioner, manning strategic portfolios in Anambra State Government over several years, government appointed policy adviser and member of the National Assembly of Nigeria for 12 years during which he chaired Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa, member of the Pan African Parliament and was elected Vice President of the All Africa’s Legislators Summit and has strong insights in legislative processes and procedures. He has valuable knowledge of the performance gaps in most public institutions in Africa having travelled across 32 countries in the continent in his 12 years journey in the Parliament and critical assignments connected with the region. He has designed and delivered trainings in Organizational Development, HR, Leadership, Change Management, Strategic Planning, Local Governance, Legislative Development, Gender Management and a host of over 100 top-tier public sector development programmes. He designed and directed the First Retreat of the 36 Governors of Nigeria. Dr. Nwankwo is passionate about human capital infrastructure revolution for transiting economies and holds that only a positive turn-around in “people force” can change the performance outcomes of governments and organizations- even in a down-turn economy. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Administration and Local Government, Fellow of the International Institute of Management Consultants, member; American Society For Training and Development, ASTD, Canadian Society For Training and Development, CSTD and Nigerian Institute For Training Development, NITAD. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Public Policy from the University of Nigeria and his academic and research areas include Communication, Public Policy, Governance, Development, Leadership, Management and Strategic Studies. Dr. Nwankwo is a Robert Kennedy Scholar in Leadership Innovations and Change Management and an internationally Certified Management Consultant, who has traversed four continents delivering top-of-the breed training and consulting solutions to professionals, organizations and governments. He is also on the Faculty of the London Bridge Business School and the current Chair, Governing Council of Africa Institute of Public Administration, AIPA, Ghana.
